Elders

With the help and assistance of SCAD, villagers are encouraged to care for the abandoned elderly who are incapable of providing for themselves and whose children are too poor to provide for them.

Each month SCAD brings this vulnerable group together to distribute financial assistance for maintenance, a medical check-up, counselling, a nutritious meal, clothing and bedding.

 

It is a successful programme, which has made a huge difference to the lives of many elderly. They have regained a feeling of dignity and a refreshed quality of life.

More than 750 abandoned elders are supported through this community based care programme.
