Agriculture
SCAD is involved in helping the villagers to renovate their irrigation tanks, construct check damns and dig farm ponds so that they are able to make best use of the precious rain drops that fall.
Other initiatives involve testing soil for salinity, and acidity in order to help farmers to cultivate crops that will provide the most income. We are planting trees and developing organic fertilisers to ease the situation of the farmers and increase food security.
SCAD-KVK is instrumental in helping farmers to adopt the skills and motivation they need to carry out these initiatives by providing a holistic training programme that is completely tailored to the farmer’s land and involves live demonstrations, which show real results, motivating the farmers to use these new and improved methods.
