There are still thousands of people struggling to survive in the harsh, unpredictable conditions of Southern Tamil Nadu. Many live below the poverty line, surviving on less than a dollar a day. They are trapped in a cycle of poverty and our aim is to empower them to help them create the opportunities they need for a bright and prosperous future.

Children under 14 are still working to support parents who remain in a vicious circle of debt. Water is sparse and this contributes to more health problems. Employment opportunities are minimal and at present depend mainly on the weather and the seasons.

SCAD works to reach these people and give them the help they need to help themselves.

The Founder and Trustees work on a voluntary basis so that every single penny can be re-directed to SCAD in India.
